The Lodge Apartments is a five-story wood and steel framed apartment complex located in the heart of Walla Walla, Washington.
The building is roughly 141,000 square feet and has 137-units ranging from urban one’s to two bedrooms. The first floor includes 26 covered parking stalls, a leasing office, exercise room and 17 extended stay units that each have a private patio and a path linked to the sidewalk.
The remaining 120 apartment units are located on floors 2-5 and have their own bolt on deck. The ‘L’ shape design draws emphasis to the curved corner where a 650 square foot retail space is located on the ground level. The corner stands out with brick and panel siding, vast amounts of glazing and a canopy that follows the curve of the building.
A variety of roof forms were used to break up the length of the building and work in tandem with various material sidings, including lap, panel, board and batten, and brick to emphasize the building modulation and create interest along the entire street front.
